A neuro-ophthalmologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosing and managing vision problems that are related to the nervous system such as the optic nerve and brain. They address common diseases such as optic neuritis, optic nerve disorders, visual field defects, and double vision caused by neurological conditions. They use a combination of clinical examination, visual field testing, imaging studies, and sometimes medical treatments or surgical interventions to diagnose and treat these diseases, aiming to improve visual function in patients with neurological eye problems.
